Wow.. Ya don’t say?
Ooo 17 apps :)
I know that my son and his partner are made in the image and likeness of God. They are not perfect, but they are brilliant, creative, personable and moral. They are certainly not objectively disordered. I know, as do many fathers, mothers, grandparents, sisters, brothers, friends, neighbors, co-workers and fellow parishioners of gay and lesbian individuals and couples, that the relationship, the love, the friendship, the personal association, the proximity, put a human face on this issue and let us see that in the context of the human spirit, none of us are different and none of us should be anything less than fully accepted members of our human community.
But you kind of have to hold the iPad 2 to really get the redesign. It’s thinner by a third, plus its edges taper to a thin line of metal. It’s almost inconceivable that this thing you’re holding is a multicore tablet computer. The Xoom tablet is trim, light, and very pretty … but when you place it next to the iPad 2, it looks as though it was designed and built by angry Soviet prison labor instead of by Motorola.
Yep, design matters.
Until then, we have a product that can’t view its own website. And people still ask, with a straight face, why Flash isn’t on iOS.
I was a bit annoyed when the Xoom was announced and I wasn’t able to view the website (not having Flash installed on my laptop).
Intel released a statement to the media today saying that on Thursday in San Francisco it will “host a…press briefing to discuss a new technology that is about to appear on the market.”
I wonder who will have machines with it built-in first?
For what it’s worth, both companies have marketed the Xoom’s ability to play Flash content as one of its advantages over the Apple iPad.
Bet you all the review for battery life will be done sans-Flash. I wonder if this is an actual technology issue or a damage control measure by Moto.
But since the unveiling at CES, almost every bit of news about the Xoom has been disheartening.
Over-promise and under-deliver.
After Motorola announced its iPad competitor will cost more than the iPad, a Verizon promo uncovered the fact that the Xoom won’t come with support for Adobe’s Flash technology until sometime this spring.
Flash doesn’t.
